A billion-dollar credit union up against big bank competition sought our expertise to align their message to their values. The strategy: we moved into their market and got to know their employees, members and community. The outcome: we went back to their roots of what mattered most to them with the rallying cry “we believe some things should never change.” The result: A renewed excitement and passion for the credit union model and reconnection to their individual branch communities.

A small-town hospital with a big heart. Part of the Mayo Network, Stormont Vail wanted to evaluate their culture to ensure they could deliver upon their brand promise of extraordinary care. After conducting in-market research for 3 months, Etch developed a “small moments’ strategy that reinforced how every interaction in health care has meaning and needs to be approached with impeccable mindfulness. We trained all employees on this message, worked with leadership and infused it throughout their space, including a heritage “museum", clinic spaces and employee alignment messaging.

With almost 15,000 employees serving multiple communities in New England and New York, Etch has worked with UVM Health (formally called Fletcher Allen) since 2007. Over the last decade, our work has run the gamut from developing a design system that expresses their academic and community-centric model of healthcare, to developing strategies to align the affiliate hospitals to each other’s values, to working with executive teams on how to reinforce their values of compassion, connection and working for a common purpose of improving people’s lives.
